Yum, Yum, Yum!

I couldn't stand to watch Mommy and Daddy eat real food anymore! I wanted a piece of the action, or better yet, a piece of whatever was on their plates! Finally, I persuaded Mommy to buy some spoons my size and some rice cereal! Hmmm....it is great! I have even gotten to try apples! On a really good day, when Mommy is not looking, Daddy feeds me the good stuff...like ICE CREAM!

Jaelynn and Friends

All grins and giggles these days! Jaelynn was enjoying all of her stuffed animal friends!

Yeah! Time to Make a Splash!

This last weekend we could not stand the hot house any longer and decided to take a dip! Jaelynn loves the water, but our lab Titus, wants to have nothing to do with the pool! Funny how that works! Well, we all enjoyed cooling off!

Mary,Mary Quite Contrary

My Mom and I spent all day Saturday planting a garden in my front yard. Let me tell you, I have never been all that much of a Gardner before, but I enjoyed being outside, soaking up the sun and getting dirty. Now lets see if I can keep it alive and flourishing! I have defiantly caught the gardening bug!

Thoughts on Motherhood

There are no words to really describe the excitement that I feel about being a mother...It is the most amazing experiance to know that this precious child depends on you to feed her, love her, keep her safe and keep her warm! I enjoy those middle of the night feedings...Because Jaelynn and I are alone in a quite world and the stars are beautiful! Looking in her eyes I see the miracle of this precious life and as she smiles and I see her big dimples I am reminded how much I love my husband. Anxiously I await the day that I can begin to teach her to count, say her abc's and show her how incredible of an artist God truly is as we admire the Iris' in Ammas yard, see the silly baby chicks at Grandmas house and gasp as we watch the lightning on a cold rainy morning. Every night as we kiss her goodnight and everymorning as she wakes up singing I am thankful for the precious gift God has entrusted to me! I am fascinated at her love for music and art already! And thank goodness for the life saving "soothie", better known to the rest of you as a pacifier! Yes, it isn't all peaches and cream all the time...there are those nights that I get absolutely no sleep at all and moments where I feel hopeless because I am not sure what to do, but we get through it and I am that much more prepared the next time it happens and hope that after a sleepless night that I may be able to catch a power nap the next day! To sum it all up! I love being a mother...and I am thankful for all the amazing examples of good mothers I have had in my life, especially my own mother!

There is something special about a Daddy...

Jaelynn love nothing more that her cuddle and play time with Daddy right when he comes home from work. She listens as he tells her all about his day and she coos and giggles in return, taking any stress from the day immediately away! If Daniel has work to do when he gets home Jaelynn thinks it is the most fun to sit on his lap and help him wrap things up...Especially if he is on the computer! It is no wonder a child's first word is often "DA DA". Jaelynn absolutely loves her Daddy!
